(Dan Tri) – The S90 Recharge has a plug-in hybrid engine so it can travel purely on electricity for 98km, saving fuel, while not completely depending on charging station infrastructure like pure electric cars.
After two SUV models, XC60 Recharge and XC90 Recharge, Volvo completed its plug-in hybrid vehicle product range in Vietnam by introducing the S90 Recharge model.
The overall look of the S90 Recharge is not much different from the S90 B6, but the Swedish automaker still has exterior tweaks to create something new.
Going into details, the S90 Recharge has a set of 19-inch wheels with an exclusive two-tone design, giving the impression of an electric vehicle.
The new car model is also an extended wheelbase variant, with dimensions of length x width x height of 5,090 x 1,890 x 1,450(mm) respectively.
The interior of the S90 Recharge is almost no different from the S90.
The Offeros crystal shift lever, handcrafted from Sweden, continues to be a symbol on Volvo cars.
The 9.7-inch entertainment screen with integrated Apple CarPlay and the 12.3-inch electronic dashboard behind the steering wheel are high-end amenities that continue to appear on the S90 Recharge.
In the `boss` position, the person sitting in the back can also open/close the rear sun curtain and adjust the front passenger seat actively through the buttons located on the dashboard.
The luxury value on the S90 Recharge also lies in the Bowers & Wilkins sound system with a capacity of 1,410 W. This system includes 19 speakers, capable of reproducing surround sound (Photo: Phan Hoi).
Similar to Volvo’s previous Recharge models, the S90 Recharge is also equipped with a plug-in hybrid engine including a 2.0L Turbocharger gasoline engine and an electric motor, giving a total capacity of 462 horsepower and 709Nm of torque.
The S90 Recharge uses an 8-speed automatic transmission and is also one of the few sedans in Vietnam with a full-time four-wheel drive system.
The lithium-ion battery pack on the S90 Recharge has a capacity of 18.8kW, much higher than conventional hybrid models (not plugged in).
Associated with safe vehicle models, the S90 Recharge is also built with a super-hard boron steel frame used in the military and aerospace, accounting for up to 40% of the vehicle frame structure.
The selling price of 2.89 billion VND of the S90 Recharge is nearly 600 million VND more expensive than the S90 B6 version.
