(Dan Tri) – German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that an error by an air force officer led to the leak of a recent secret meeting about a potential attack on Russia’s Crimea bridge.

Speaking at a press conference in Berlin on March 5, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that according to the initial results of the internal investigation, the leak of audio tapes of secret meetings of national officials
`Our communications systems were not compromised,` Mr. Pistorius confirmed.
The German Defense Minister also announced that a preliminary investigation had been launched into the conduct of the officers, which could lead to disciplinary measures against those involved in the leak.
Previously, Russian media published a 38-minute recording that allegedly recorded a discussion between General Ingo Gerhartz, commander of the German air force, and a number of other high-ranking German officers on February 19.
The officers discussed British Storm Shadow and French SCALP cruise missiles that these countries donated to Ukraine.
German officers debate whether those weapons are enough to attack the bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula with Russia’s Krasnodar region.
The German Ministry of Defense has confirmed the content of the conversation was wiretapped and is investigating the incident.
Minister Pistorius claimed the leak was a `combined attack aimed at disinformation` and represented `part of the information war that Russia is waging`.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that the exchange of German officers was evidence that the country was preparing to launch war with Moscow.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also commented that this shows that the West is still looking for ways to make Russia fail on the battlefield.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the recording of the German officers’ discussion shows that the country’s military intends to launch an `attack on Russian territory.`
German government deputy spokesman Wolfgang Buechner stated at a press conference in Berlin on March 4 that any claim that the recording proves Germany is ready for a war with Russia is just `a claim`.
