(Dan Tri) – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) believes that it could take Iran several weeks to store enough enriched uranium to make a nuclear bomb.

IAEA leader Rafael Grossi said on April 23 that Iran may only need `weeks, not months` to have enough enriched uranium to develop a nuclear bomb.
`But that doesn’t mean Iran has or will have nuclear weapons in that period of time,` he added in an interview with German news agency DW.
The IAEA chief said Iran’s uranium enrichment levels near weapons-grade levels should cause alarm, but he had no evidence that Tehran currently has nuclear weapons.
According to Mr. Grossi, a functional nuclear warhead requires many other parts besides fissile material.
Mr. Grossi has urged Iran to allow the agency greater access to its domestic atomic facilities, which he said would reduce speculation surrounding Tehran’s nuclear program.
Iran has always asserted that its nuclear program `only serves peaceful purposes`.
In recent times, as tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated, there have been many speculations that Tel Aviv may target Tehran’s nuclear facility.
Mr. Grossi previously raised concerns about the risk that Israel could attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
On April 22, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that atomic weapons have no place in Iran’s nuclear doctrine.
`Iran has repeatedly said that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Nuclear weapons have no place in our nuclear doctrine,` he said at a press conference in Tehran.
However, last week, Brigadier General Ahmad Haqtalab, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Nuclear Center Security and Protection Corps, warned that any Israeli aggression against
In addition, he said, in response to potential threats from Israel against Iran’s nuclear facilities, Tehran could also review its nuclear policy.
`If Israel attempts to use the threat of attacking Iran’s nuclear centers as a means to pressure Tehran, then Iran could reconsider its nuclear doctrine and policy, potentially
Since 2022, Iran has announced that it possesses the technology to make a nuclear bomb but has no plans to do so.
In 2023, the US predicted that Tehran could produce enough nuclear material for a bomb within weeks and would need several months to turn it into a bomb.
In May 2023, Israel accused Iran of preparing materials to build five nuclear bombs, warning that this development would have serious consequences for the Middle East.
