Eternals introduced a host of new characters and concepts to the MCU, based on the elaborate mythology created by legendary comic book writer and artist Jack Kirby.
Kirby created an entire mythology with the first issue of the Eternals comic in 1976, but when compared to the movies, there are quite a few differences.
Some of those changes involved streamlining the mythology, which was as complex as Frank Herbert’s classic science fiction novel Dune.
10. Origin
The origins of the Eternals in the comics are complex, dating back millions of years.
9. Purpose of the Celestials
The origin and purpose of the Celestials in the comics is also extremely complex, and it is also the subject of another major change in the film.
They create permanent variants (and Deviant variants) from existing species and then observe their progress.
8. The powers of the Eternals
The Eternals rank among the most powerful superheroes in both comics and the MCU.
7. Deviants
The Deviants also went through some changes to the MCU.
6. Olympia
The Eternals are said to come from a distant planet called Olympia.
Olympia’s exact location though has changed in the comics.
5. Domo
In the movie, the Eternals arrive on Earth on a giant triangular ship called the Domo.
4. Ajak
Some characters such as Domo were removed from the film.
3. Makkari
Makkari is one of the fastest superheroes in the MCU, this character is shown in the movie with super speed.
2. Ikaris
Ikaris receives some major changes in the film.
1. Kingo
Another character with a big change from the comics is Kingo.
The two versions of the character have one thing in common.
