(Dan Tri) – `Winning` the position of best-selling car in Vietnam in 2022, but Toyota Vios had a not very positive start in the first month of 2023.
Vietnam’s auto market in the first month of 2023 has a general downward trend because this time coincides with the Lunar New Year holiday.
Specifically, Toyota’s strategic products only sold 275 cars in January, down 90% compared to December 2022.

The second best seller in the B-class sedan segment is Honda City with 759 cars delivered to customers, down 36% compared to the previous month.

Toyota Vios `suffers` at number 3 position in the B-class sedan segment, followed by Mitsubishi Attrage with January sales reaching 239 vehicles, down 53%.

In 2022, Toyota Vios is the best-selling product in the B-class sedan segment as well as the entire Vietnamese car market with total sales reaching 23,529 units.
This year, Toyota Vios is expected to welcome a new version, but it is likely only a slight mid-life upgrade with some changes in appearance, not a completely new generation like other markets in the world.

Experts believe that the reason the Vios 2023 that is about to go on sale in Vietnam is not a completely new generation is because the company needs to push out the remaining inventory of assembled cars, so it changed the appearance a bit to `refresh` the product.
This move has been applied by Toyota Vietnam with the Corolla Altis 2020 and will likely be applied again with the Vios 2023. In contrast, the new generation of Toyota Vios in the international market possesses a strong, `herd`-like design.
